This activity is for doing outside in the sunshine. Bring a toy or two, some paper and coloring/drawing materials outside. Use the sunlight to create shadows on/near the paper to draw and color. The website below has more information:

During the springtime many classrooms introduce the following song/chant. It involves whatever animal you choose and the movement (i.e. frog/leap, fish/swim…) to accompany it.

“Fly little bird, fly little bird, fly as I sing. Fly little bird, fly little bird, fly into spring.

S-P-R-I-N-G….. S-P-R-I-N-G (clap as you say each letter)

Squirm little worm, squirm little worm, squirm as I sing. Squirm little worm, squirm little worm, squirm into spring.

S-P-R-I-N-G….. S-P-R-I-N-G (clap as you say each letter)

Hop little bunny, bop little bunny, hop as I sing. Hop little bunny, hop little bunny, hop into spring.

S-P-R-I-N-G….. S-P-R-I-N-G (clap as you say each letter)”

The Dolphins have also enjoyed completing puzzles. Have a set time in the afternoon for just doing puzzles, could be a jigsaw puzzle that they work a little bit on daily or they could make their own by coloring a picture first, (you can back it on some cardboard first if you choose) and then let them randomly cut it up.  They can then piece it all back together.
