Hi Bunny Friends,  πŸ‘‹ 🐰 πŸ‘«

Your Bunny Teachers are sending you a big Hug!!  πŸ€— Adrienne, Linda, Jean, Mary, Sara and Sandy have been thinking of some SPRING activities that you might enjoy trying this week.

Now that SPRING has finally arrived, you can feel the warm sun when you are enjoying outside fun.  See if you can find any of these when you look out your window or walk outside. These are all signs that SPRING has sprung.

These are some activities that will help us learn more about Spring:

STEM/FINE MOTOR/GROSS MOTOR

=Build a Tiny Rain Shelter.  Walk around the yard and collect different size rocks, sticks, bark & mulch pieces, leaves, etc. in a brown paper grocery bag.  After all items are collected try to build a tiny rain shelter using all items, plus using the brown paper bag torn into pieces.

GROSS MOTOR

- Have a backyard Scavenger Hunt for birds, flowers, and other common Spring finds using this free printable as a guide: Backyard Scavenger Hunt

FINE MOTOR/ART

- Make Bunny Ears Headbands

- Help the Bunnies get to their carrots!: Bunny cutting practice (set the scale to 200% before printing)

LITERACY/GROSS MOTOR

-Song and movement with Sandy   Hop Little Bunny

SENSORY/MINDFULNESS/DRAMATIC PLAY

-- Fill a bin with water. Add ducks, small animals, or whatever you have handy. If you have a spray bottle, try filling that and seeing if you can make the items move around the bin just by spraying them. Add measuring cups, funnels, and small bottles to practice filling and dumping.

*-Guess which items will sink/float

STEM/FINE MOTOR/DRAMATIC PLAY

- Using a brown paper bag, make a nest. You can gather twigs and feathers to add to it. If you have cotton balls at home, glue on an orange triangle for a beak and some black circles for eyes- you made your own bird in a nest.

GROSS MOTOR/DRAMATIC PLAY

- Create a large nest in your house with pillows, blankets, paper tubes, other soft items… Sit in the middle when done and pretend you’re a bird or any kind of animal..

- To go along with planting seeds, and flowers for Spring, there is a nice video of flowers starting to bloom, time lapsed, if you can possibly watch this:

Flowers blooming

MINDFULNESS/GROSS MOTOR

-Practice your yoga poses. Child's pose, Squirrel, Waterfall, Tree, Frog, Happy Baby, Downward Dog( don’t forget to wiggle your tail),flower pose (our newest pose) and Do Nothing Doll.  Hold each pose and count to 3.
